Barry the role model

Created by Phil one year ago
Barry has been part of my life as far back as I can remember, right back in to my earliest childhood memories.

He was in every way a father figure to me. As father figures go I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect role model.

The Barry I will remember is one that was highly intelligent, quietly funny, always pristine in his appearance and a hugely talented musician who was always playing, tuning or setting up one of his many guitars or keyboard.

Ava and Bobby adored spending time with you and you always had a fun activity for them. They always talk about you teaching them the Guitar and Piano (when they would sit still for more than 5 minutes) or how you would do drawing with them. Bobby would love how you spent hours building seemingly never ending train tracks with him. They will miss you but always remember you!

He was such a wonderful man that did not deserve this dreadful disease and it breaks my heart that many of his retirement years were consumed with it. The only comforts that I can take from this is that he lived such a brilliant life, was loved my so many and was so cared for by my Mum right up until the end.

Hayley and I will miss him dearly and continue to remind his Grandchildren what an amazing man he was and how much he loved them.

Rest In Peace Barry and thank you for everything!
